And another thing:
Every job I have ever worked there has always been a large number of female co-workers. This is not in and of itself a bad thing, except that women don't like each other. Period. And since I am generally quiet and polite at the workplace, all these women come to me to bitch about each other thinking that I actually am listening to their drivel. And no, I don't work with anyone who is even marginally hot, so I get nothing out of the deal except an earful of inane gossip.
GRRR
LOL. Dude, I feel you. I am one of two guys in my building and the other one isn't around a lot. These women stay into it with each other. It's ridiculous. At least a couple are cute but most aren't even nearly so.
As for the topic I get to deal with a boss who acts like she's manic depressive - really good moods one day and hates the world the next. There have been a few times since I've been here that she's broken down and gone totally whacky crying and threatening to quit.
Also, the owners of this company know one word in the English language better than any others. That word is CHEAP. They want it cheap, cheap, cheap. It gets on my freaking nerves because cheap isn't always the best route and sometimes you end up paying more in the long run.
They aren't much on the appearance of the office either. I swear were it not for the modern office technology like the copy machine and computers this place must look exactly like it did when it was built in '71. All of the office furniture is old crap that they get at auction or wherever has it CHEAP.
Lastly, a new woman they hired as a CPA a year ago has also assumed the role of office manager apparently because she has her nose in every damn thing regardless of wheather she understands it or not. She's always asking inane questions and never understands the answer you give her no matter how much you dumb it down. I absolutely cannot stand even so much as hearing her voice. She's undeniably ugly, fat, short, waddles when she walks and has a whiny, high pitched voice that's about as comforting as dragging your fingernails on a chalkboard.
Still, overall I get a lot of perks being here and at least I'm making a paycheck so I endure the 80 mile commute.
