People to make up excuses not to pay their child support obligations.

me: "so you can't afford it, right? I mean, $10/week is a financial hardship?"
them: "yeah, I only make $1,200/month and my expenses are $1,500/month"
me: [looking at their bank transactions]
me: "hmm...looks like you don't have any $ in the bank because you spend $50 every week at Starbucks and another $50/month in bank fees!"

I'm a pretty responsible person. If there's a deadline to meet, I stay at work late to finish it. Other folks just blow it off... and then when asked where their work is, they give some lame-o excuse like they misunderstood what was asked of them, or so-and-so didn't give them the information to finish the job, etc.

It REALLY grates on me that people can continually f*ck things up and keep their jobs. That, to me, is the most morale draining kick in the @ss. You bust your butt to give results with quality, and some jagoff just coasts by screwing up any and everything they touch... and it creates MORE work for you because you are the one responsible enough to fix the screw up!

And another thing:

Every job I have ever worked there has always been a large number of female co-workers. This is not in and of itself a bad thing, except that women don't like each other. Period. And since I am generally quiet and polite at the workplace, all these women come to me to bitch about each other thinking that I actually am listening to their drivel. And no, I don't work with anyone who is even marginally hot, so I get nothing out of the deal except an earful of inane gossip.

LOL. Dude, I feel you. I am one of two guys in my building and the other one isn't around a lot. These women stay into it with each other. It's ridiculous. At least a couple are cute but most aren't even nearly so.

As for the topic I get to deal with a boss who acts like she's manic depressive - really good moods one day and hates the world the next. There have been a few times since I've been here that she's broken down and gone totally whacky crying and threatening to quit.

Also, the owners of this company know one word in the English language better than any others. That word is CHEAP. They want it cheap, cheap, cheap. It gets on my freaking nerves because cheap isn't always the best route and sometimes you end up paying more in the long run.

They aren't much on the appearance of the office either. I swear were it not for the modern office technology like the copy machine and computers this place must look exactly like it did when it was built in '71. All of the office furniture is old crap that they get at auction or wherever has it CHEAP.

Lastly, a new woman they hired as a CPA a year ago has also assumed the role of office manager apparently because she has her nose in every damn thing regardless of wheather she understands it or not. She's always asking inane questions and never understands the answer you give her no matter how much you dumb it down. I absolutely cannot stand even so much as hearing her voice. She's undeniably ugly, fat, short, waddles when she walks and has a whiny, high pitched voice that's about as comforting as dragging your fingernails on a chalkboard.

Still, overall I get a lot of perks being here and at least I'm making a paycheck so I endure the 80 mile commute.

being told to go to a training class by one person
then being required to fill out a training "request" by another

if the first person is making me go/wants me to go, THEY should do the paper work to get me into the training class, all i should have to do is show up and learn the stuff

i don't like bueracracy/paperwork

making me beg to go to "required" training sucks monkey balls

I think what I hate most about my job is the sheer amount of pressure. One wrong decision and I feel I can do so much damage. Because of this I don't have much left for every other decision. When it's time to choose dinner on the airplane, I nearly fall apart. Chicken or fish?! Chicken or fish?!

Ugh, I know the feeling. If they want someone to whine to, either get a best friend that's a chick, or go see a psychologist. I have no desire to be their gay hair stylist. I especially hate how I have to hear endlessly about their kids (Kathy Lee doesn't hold a candle to some of these women). Even fruit flies procreate for God's sake, it's not like they crapped out a diamond.

LMAO So true. I hope when I have kids I still have something else to talk about.

My office has like 3-4 guys to 45 women. I do my best to not get pulled into the office gossip. I just smile and nod until the hurting stops.

Well...I'm not going to go that far...but women bosses always seem to be micromanagement junkies. Just leave me alone and let me do my thing.

The utter incompetence of my superiors when it comes to organization and using software... and waking up at 5am on occasion to do the early shift :(
