What Photoshop should I get?

CS2? Why would you get anything else?

CS2 works great for me. I have it here at work and I love that they finally added the ability to select multiple layers in the layers palette.

Depends. What do you need it for? Elements is pretty nice and has an organizer. CS2 is great for more serious editing, has actions, curves, layer masks, etc.

I find that since I get more done in my RAW converter these days I have less and less need for the full photoshop package.

LIke everyone else says, CS2 FTW.

But I primarily use Illustrator CS2, and use fireworks for the other stuff, so I guess my opinions don't count as much? 😱

Don't know really, but I read a huge thread at 3DBuzz.com of old PS users slagging on CS2 for some changes to Layers. That's not to say that CS2 is borked, but it might all depend on how much you use/know PS to begin with to determine what version is right. It may have all been more of a "they changed X" whine as well. I suppose what I'm really trying to say is get CS2. 😀

CS2 is great if you can afford it AND if you have a speedy computer.

Elements 4 is great. You can get levels and curves plugins that work well with it.

Suggestion? I believe there is try out demo for both CS2 and Element so try it out then you will decide.
CS2 is okay for me I have to keep up with better technologies what CS2 has to offer and make my job easier to get it done.
