What phone/provider/plan are you using and how much are you paying?

Sprint SERO

$30/month
500 Minutes
7pm-7am nights and weekends free
Free roaming
unlimited texting included
unlimited data (network and roaming)
free mobile to mobile
picture mail, etc etc

I am with Mojoed. SERO from Sprint and Motorola Q9C FTW.

$30 per month plus junk fees and taxes ~ $34 or so

I pay about $8/month for my T-Mobile prepaid account. I bought 1,000 minutes for $88 and use about 90 minutes per month (roughly $8 worth). I'm on target to use up the minutes in 11 months, at which time I'll simply buy another 1,000 minutes. The 1000-minute cards last for an entire year, and adding any card (even the $10) will extend their expiration date by an additional year.

How do you like the TP2? My contract is up in June and I think I may get that..

Panasonic W52P / au by KDDI / No idea, I didn't speak Japanese when I signed up / about 3500 yen a month

blackberry bold / rogers / $48 per month

500 MB data
10,000 texts per month
free rogers to rogers calls
free LD after 6 pm and weekends

so it's $48 / mo unless i get dinged for roaming charges like i did last month b/c i posted a bunch of pics from the Michigan game to my facebook. self owned

piece of junk/doesn't matter/too much

the more i shop around, the more i realize that any contract plan except for Sprint's SERO is a major ripoff. I'd switch to Sprint in a minute if SERO was still available.

Alltel / 500 minutes a month (actually unlimted minutes since everyone I know is on Alltel and those calls are free) / Nationwide calling without roaming charges / Samsung U520 until it broke and I'm just temporarilly borrowing a random phone now.

The cost is $37/month before taxes and $44.79/month after all taxes and fees.

The Alltel to Verizon switch is happening this month, so I have no idea what I'll sign up for when my contract expires in early December.

T-Mobile. $72/mo with all taxes/fees included. 500 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends. 200 text messages. Free same network calls plus my 5 friends. I use a G1 so a chunk of that money is for the data plan.

That said I'm not happy with the service and will likely jump ship once my contract ends next year.

This

this x3

unlimited texting is key... I don't make that many phone calls (my once/week call to my parents plus the odd call for take-out), but I text all the time. it's practically all my friends and I do anymore.

currently have a sanyo katana. it's gotten pretty banged up, though. looking forward to getting a new phone when my contract is up next year. probably a blackberry or iphone with an upgrade to a data plan. my facebook addiction needs to be fed.

Currently on a family plan. Soon though I'll move to Page Plus, 1200 minutes, 1200 texts, 50 MB, $30/mo. Shit compared to SERO, but SERO isn't available anymore.

I have a RAZR but will be upgrading to a Samsung SCH-i760 when I move to Page Plus.

Celluar South smart phone plan with a HTC Touch Diamond
$50/month
750 nationwide minutes
free Cell South to Cell South calls
unlimited text
unlimited data
call waiting/voicemail/etc

Verizon 2 lines 2nd line is $10, I pay $96 after a discount for 900 mins, no text no data no nothing, hate the 2 year contract, hate veri$on. Phone's useless, everything is blocked or costs another $10 a month.

Worst provider ever.

None. For the first time since the mid-90's, we're without cell phones. (anyone else remember the "bag phones") 😀

We've been talking about getting some type of pre-paid cell phone set-up, but they all seem like rip-offs. Either you pay a ridiculous "per-minute" rate, or you pay a daily "access fee" and a moderate "per minute" rate.

We started with AirTouch Cellular, which became AT&T, which became Cingular, which became AT&T again...The last plan we had was a "Friends & Family" sort of thing. 2 phones, lots of minutes, unlimited texting, (which I never used) free mobile-to-mobile, etc. Even counting the mobile-to-mobile minutes, we rarely used more than 100 minutes per month between us.

When I worked long hours and commuted, we used the phones much more, but now...about the only time I miss having one is when we get separated in the grocery store..."Where the fuck are you?" 😛

Palm pre, sprint . Was $80 or so with everything, now $120 for 2 lines .

I like my pre. It reminds me of a phone that can do more, vs. an MP3 player that has a phone tacked on. It's hard to explain, but I like the lack of apps and like that it's a closed system (though their apps catalog is expanding). Though the battery life sucks.

My wife hates her pre and I might have to get her an iphone again (shouldn't have sold it!). It's not as fun, not as pretty (the build quality lacking compared to the brick that is the iPhone) and she misses the apps...
