Which apps will REQUIRE it? None, for quite a long time.
Nothing requires it, it's the OS that is dependent on it to manage the cores effectively. Dual core only helps us in our ever growing mobile world and I'm happy it's here.
Nothing requires it
That's not dual-core only, it's Tegra 2 only ie Nvidia wrote them a check to make a game for only their SOC.Another game, RiptideGP, that *requires* dual core-

Runs incredibly smooth on my phone.
Basically all current single core smart phones use an ARM Cortex A8 based cpu, and all dual core phones use a Cortex A9 based CPU, including Tegra 2 phones.
The A9 is ARM's next gen CPU and is better than the A8 in more ways than being dual core. While it may not be worth upgrading if you already have a Cortex A8 phone, if you're buying a new phone anyway I don't see why you'd buy one with old hardware.
Well a phone like the Nexus S is a good phone still because you are guaranteed to get updates before everyone. I wouldn't buy it but I can see why someone might want it. Me personally I'm just waiting for the Evo 3D.
