What percentage of your CDs do you have encoded?

MP3, Ogg, whatever else.

I'm just encoding mine now and I'm curious about everyone else.

Maybe like 5%. I'm too lazy. Though I have downloaded mp3s of about 20% of the CDs that I own.

Sorry to hear about that. That is, however, a perfect reason to rip them. If my CDs are lost, stolen, or destroyed, I have them here on my drive. Conversely, if I have a drive failure, I still have my CDs. At $1/GB, redundancy is cheap.

about 90%. too lazy to take them off the shelf and stick them in my computer. also many of the new ones have those autoloading "enhanced" features that make it extremely difficult to play just the music on your computer. now that i have an ipod it makes even more sense. :)

Not the full CDs, but select songs from all of them. I have ca 500 CDs, so it was several months of work. Now I'm going back and doing some of them over, as there was something wrong with the ripping program I used for the early stuff.

I'd say I probablyl ripped a couple hundred myself ... then a few hundred I already had as mp3 before I bought ... so I'd say around 100% ... I may have a few cds that I don't have as mp3 ... but not many.

I'm going to wait until I get a big enough hard drive so I can rip all ~350 of them and encode them losslessly in the same span of time.
The scary thing is I have 40+ gb of full albums on my computer already:D
