What PC Game should I play this summer ???

Here's the deal...I don't have much time to play games most of the year, but I usually play over the the summer to unwind. I thought I would be playing the Diablo 2 Expansion, but I have decided not to. I played WAY, WAY, WAY too much from August to January & even made $3000 selling stuff on ebay. I havent played since then. Last night, I go on bnet & get upgraded by newest patch. Also, many of my 100's of characters (full of stuff) won't come up. Then I look at the updates that are made on this patch & blizzard has completely changed all the skills & items. I try to play anyway & find the servers to be even more laggy than they were when the game first came out. I GIVE UP !!! I cancelled my pre-order for the expansion & am quitting D2 for good.

Now, I need to find a game that is just as fun & addictive to keep me occupied over the summer (& piss off my wife of course). I am looking for suggestions. Any genre is fine, but I want something multiplayer...preferably a new game that just came out or is going to soon.

What do you all think?

Are you serious?

Play Black and White, hooked me like crack.

Tribes 2

If you like FPS games.
I love this game. But you have to have a pretty beefy machine and connection to play.

Max Payne looks pretty good...but it'll only last you about 10 hours of single player play. Black and White is pretty good..but i got bored of it after a week or so.

FFVII! haha, that's what im playing right now. i never beat it two years ago, so now ive decided to play it again. it should take up ur whole summer to beat. or FFVIII

Thanks for the suggestions (Anarchy Online looks like fun...though Shadowbane looks more interesting, though I don't know much about either).

Anyone else have ideas?
