You sound like me.

We have lab equipment that is so old and outdatd that he still have to have NT 4.0 boxes with SP3 for the equipment to work. And there is no documentation on this stuff anywhere. And if this machine ever dies so does the piece of equipment plugged into it since no one has any of the software for it.
