Azureus - For pretty much everything.
EMule - For single mp3s and small apps.
Ares - For very hard to find mp3s.

The network Kazaa was using went to sh1t. The RIAA would take songs off, fvck with them (hence the weird distorted crap all of a sudden), and put them back on, just to give Kazaa a bad name. The network Limewire uses is great, the Gnutella network.

I also use Bit-torrent for some... *cough* other things. *cough*

I use bittorrent for anything big, and DC++ for music, because i find it easier to get mp3's that are better 128mbit quality from there and there are no fakes. Sometimes I use it for harder to find movies because I haven't found a bittorrent search engine that doesn't suck.

Sherman Networks (owners of kazaa) put a lawsuit against them for copyright infringement and shut them down.

Even with port forwarding and high id, eMule's pretty slow compared to BT. I still use it on occassion for little things esp. with its easy search feature, but for the latest stuff, like anime eps., I use Azureus.

Yea, I agree it is slow. I tend to queue a bunch of stuff in, and then forget about it for a few days when I discover I have new stuff to watch.
