What over-the-ear gaming headset do you suggest?

I'm willing to spend upto $100, but I'd rather find something under $50. In my searching I noticed that the headset that got the most recommendations was the PC150, however I really want an over-the-ear style headset. Sound quality isn't a huge issue, I just want to be able to play CS:S and have good directional sound so I can tell where people are coming from. And of course, they have to be comfortable to wear for hours on end. I read a positive review on the Icemat Siberia, but I don't like the idea of a clip-on mic, I'd rather have a headset with a boom mic (unless the Siberia's are just that great, then I'll get them).

Any suggestions?

(personal experience with the headset you are recommending would be preferred)

Audio-Technica A500 for headphone, cheapo mic for trash talking. The A500 is $100 @ audiocubes.com

I don't want separate headphones and mic, I want a headset. The only way I will get the two separated is if you guys highly suggest the Icemat Siberia, but other than that I would like a headset with a boom mic.

What's so great about those? Reviews look positive, but when you get the mic and headphones, for $50 new, they aren't going to compare to a brand like Sennheiser, Grado, or several other brands at $100.

Wow these have got to be the best headphones that ive ever heard, except for *Bose* ones(which is understandable). It feels very comfortable and the clothe/felt earcups don't make my ears sweat as muc...

Ok, when thats the first review I see on Newegg, I really have to be skeptical of these. 😀

Honestly, go with a $100 pair of headphones (like the ones already mentioned, or perhaps the Sennheiser HD-280 or HD-555) and a $5 mic.

The reviews for the Icemat aren't exactly glowing. They're positive, and for $50 I'm sure they're not bad at all, but none of them did a very good job of testing. Looks like the PC150 actually might be a bit worse and is cheaper.

Its up to you, but you'll get better sound out of some good phones and the difference in mic quality won't be much.
