Now sounds like a good time to give Linux a try, but if you insist on being Bill Gates' b!tch, use Windows NT 4. Just as stable as 2K, but without the bloat.

If you plan on playing any games, stay away from NT4. NT4 is a fine corporate workstation OS, but it pretty much sucks ass for a home PC.

I had this problem with my PC at work with XP. It went cruddy on me twice. I have switched back to Win2K and have had no problems since. I use XP at home with no problems. Either one is good, but XP just seems to dislike some configurations right now.

Ah hell I just ended up installing Win2k. Style XP is nice but I can live without it. Win2k is soooo much faster then WinXP. WinXP was just too bloated and seemed to self distruct after a few months....... kinda like Win95. It's nice not having MSN Messenger and WMP 8 crap already preinstalled. BTW, so far I have had no stability problems with Win2k so I know it's not my hardware. When WinXP was working properly it was rock solid but it slowly started to deteriorate and finally became an unstable, slow, buggy POS.

Complete opposite of all the machines with XP here. No problems since Oct 27 (day it was installed).
