I can't see how people have had so many problems with XP... I've installed it on many machines to do just about everything and had no problems.. Maybe it a hardware issue or something..

Yep, sounds like it. XP has been stable as a rock for me. Almost too stable, it's kinda boring ;)

If you're not liking WinXP try Win2k....that's what I'm about to do as soon as I get some time.

2K. I use XP now, and I think it gives me more errors than 2K... StyleXP just makes it so hard for me to leave it though... :D

If you want a M$ Windows for general use XP is the way to go. It should run just fine on your computer.
If you have any problems with the install it's probably your fault.

mandrake 8.1 was perfect from what i thought,, i had no problems with it, it ran beautifully on my bare bones system,, linux is the way to go man, but other then that win2k with sp2, unless you have a fast system for winxp

Hahaha. Give Linux a try, Red Hat 7.2 is better than Mandrake 8.1 IMO. I still prefer win2k over Linux, for now.

A lot of times, XP instability issues stem from faulty hardware. Make sure all your hardware is working correctly. If you suspect any part to be failing, replace it and see how XP performs.
