To add to that - CCBWE 0530TPMW's for the dual core models (170-180) seem to be hitting 2.9-3.0GHz without too much trouble. Production week seems to be very important too.

The problem is not so much overclocking but which one you can get. The Opteron 146 could be had for under $150 two weeks ago, the few places that have them in stock now want $200 or more. I'm going to guess the price will continue to go up untill demand levels off.

CABYE 0540FPMW was hitting 3ghz fairly easily. I'm not sure how many are left, though. I think I've only seen one CAB2E hit 3ghz, and mine would hardly do 2.7 :(

The CABNE 0530's were also doing 3ghz easy, but they have been long gone in the retail market.

the CABYE FPBW are also hitting 3ghz on air. they seem to run really hot though unless my motherboard is reporting wrong. at 1.408v, my 146 hits 55 C under load running at 2860mhz. weird thing is that my heatsink is barely warm. i am using a dfi nf4 ultra-d and xp-90 with a panaflo

My 170 CCBWE can't do 2.6 stable even with 1.6V I can't remember what week it is though. :(

My 144 only ran a degree or two warmer than my Venice. It wasn't too bad.

I dont think you will find the average dual core is hitting 2.9 - 3 on air .. Of course there are exceptions..

Average, maybe not, but I have seen more 0530's in that range than any other week. Problem is, most people aren't getting those when they order - my 170 is an 0534 :p

Neweggs 148s are CABYE 0542FPMW 's.

I'll post results once I get them... just moved my ram to yellow slots, which lets me run 2t (thought I was stuck at 1t before with this and my earlier 144) so I THINK I can max the cpu out now.

I just got my chip From Monarch, it's an CABYE 0540 FPBW. Opteron 148,I ordered it Tuesday evening, and got it today.
Just waiting for my Neo2 to show tommorrow and my Swiftech Storm, and I'll see how it does. First venture over to AMD here, and I guess my first question is; How will this setup do with Mushkin 2x512 BH-5 PC3200?
Reason I did post in this thread, is that I saw others providing info as to steppings, etc.
Also, the other numbers on the chip at the bottom, any way to sort those out?

Edit, posted wrong day as to ordering/sheesh :(

Was that yesterday or last Wednesday? I might order one tonight if it's the former.

the best stepping seems to be the 0528/0530APMW's

it seems though that most of the CABYE 0540 FP()W () = A,B,M are doing really well.

My FPMW did 2.9 with just 1.5 volts prime stable.

i was hoping for a B but oh well.

Thats good info, TY :)
Not trying to Hijack this thread or anything, but for me, it is going to be like walking into a whole new world. I have worked on AMD computers before, but never owned 1, and Tweaked 1. I've run Intel's forever, and am looking forward into delving into the new setup soon :D
