what one factor makes a post credible besides actual content?

do you look at a post, look at the member's stats and then decide if the post means something? there are several other factors, as i see it. besides raw post count, there's date joined, average posts per day, and elite status. do any of these other facts mean something to anyone?

edit: what's the most important fact in determining the opinion of a user? (besides content of actual post) was the question in the poll (meaning that content was #1, and whatever else was #2) but since i'm flexible i'll add the option of nota.
 
they might make a difference if it were something like a trade or sale, but if it's just some post in OT, none of those. i just read their post to see if they are idiots or not 😛 determining the vailidity of an opinion based on the above listed criterea is sort of dumb and silly, if you ask me.

There are patterns in the quality of the posts made by different members. After a while, you can tell that posts made by certain members will be better than those of others.

There are a few people who I just ignore for the most part.

Date joined *might* have a *little* impact, because it means that the person knows how the board flows, and what is accepted. In theory at least.
 
Where's the non of the above option? I don't base the importance or creditability of someone's opinion on any of that stuff.

Same here. I base it on what they've said and done in the past. If I don't know them, I give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove they're an idiot or not.

me too. But I also have some respect for the 'old-timers'. I.e. those whose join date is 1999.
 
I agree with the above posts. Another thing that matters a bit to me would be whether the person posting has the ability to put a coherent thought together (or a sentence, or even a correctly spelled word or two).

honestly, mostly content. the others can suggest things, but can only frame the content. although the last factor (before "none") on your list immediately invalidates content 😛
 
Usually content.

Although it is a sad fact that a lot of people will judge your intelligence by how much they agree with you.
 
I tend to give more credence to the threads started / heavily participated in by the members who I know, whose names I recognize.
