Nhirlathothep, it seems like 4GB ram is the norm for "top of the line" cards and that 6/8 are sort of the exception in rare cases... if we ignore the "two GPU SLI/Crossfire on one card" cases.
garagisti, I'm not exactly anti-AMD but right now the AMD cards(2xx) are at the tail end of their life cycle. I'd rather buy a card that is just released or close to it. I could almost consider an AMD 3xx card.
I'm still probably a week away from my 970 refund so I will probably wait another week to see if there is a hint on either front for something new especially if there is a whisper of a 6-8GB 980.
