What not to do at your local drag strip

Makes me wonder if he stopped at the end of the strip to turn around and see his time, or if he just kept on driving until he got home.

Lol.

I can't laugh too hard though because I once accidentely left my car in reverse in the burnout box. Crowd thought that was pretty funny too.

The one night you don't want to go to the dragstrip is import night if you have a real car that actually goes fast because you will not get many runs in, but you will be entertained. Although there are some fast imports most are Civics and other pieces of shit with fart pipes and complete idiot drivers.

One time there was this moron who had a Civic and had stripped the entire interior, including most of the dash, in order to take as much weight off off the car as possible. I'm not sure where this guys brain was but it was obvious he had never been to the track. He managed to launch his slow ass car but we all stood there in amazement when he passed the 1/4 mile mark but now brake lights came on. He kept on driving with his foot to the floor I assume in an attempt to see how fast he could get that little crap car going. He used up the entire 1/4 mile slow down portion of the track and then proceeded to drive right into the sand pit at the Civic's terminal velocity. The cloud of sand dust was epic. I have never seen several thousand people laughing so hard.

wtf? he used the sand trap as his brakes? did he get fined for that?

I do not know what happened to him but they had to close the track for a while dealing with his dumb ass. I guess you could say he used the sand as his brakes as we never saw any brake lights and just heard his fart pipe at full tilt until the cloud of sand appeared in the distance.

Import night is full of dipshit posers that can't drive and don't understand how anything works at the track. Most of them should be embarrassed at how slow their cars are but I think most of them are too stupid. There are a few really nice and really fast imports out there but they are few and most are not really streetable.

I believe this is the mindset that keeps new people away from the track.

If they've never been to the track, why would they understand how any of it works?

It is the ricers which means they are posers. They act like they know what they are doing but their cars are ridiculous. Most people who go to the track to actually learn something take the time to find out how things work. Not most of the clowns on import night. It is entertaining but no time for serious people to go to the track. It only took a couple of trips for us to learn that tuning a real car should not be attempted on import night.

I've found that the imports at test and tune night to be rather well versed and have well sorted cars, but the Wednesday night is when you see the ones that have broken half shafts on their Accords. The only axle I saw broken on a test and tune night was when a car managed to leave the ford 9" pinion and the driveshaft that was attached to it in the burnout box. Annoyingly, it was the first car out that night. Guess he needed to go to a fabbed up rear end for that bad boy.

If you don't know though, seriously, just watch some runs and ask. If it's your first time to the strip and you want to do it right, there are tons of people who will gladly answer questions and help you do it right. You can even Google it!

Maybe he's not dumb, but realized he had to pull something out of his ass when he saw the chute on the other car...

lol.
"Look at that piece of crap that's going to race me. hahahaha. Wait, real drag tires and a friggin chute. Dammit, think, think, think..."
