Most of those are pretty mainstream. How many people do you know that haven't, at some point in their life, owned a hamster, rabbit, or fish?

We have our "hailey". She's fat, white and black and completly obnoxious. We love her to death. She never fails to entertain us with her attention getting ways.
BTW this is a Rat. She would have free run of the house, if it werent for the 2 dogs, who seem only interested in eating her. She's smart, comes when called, can do some things shes asked to do, and also leaves her cage to go pee or other, as we have "cat box" trained her. We leave her cage unlocked, so she can venture out. Sometimes all she wants to do is cuddle with us. 🙂

Rats are smart, compassionate, trainable and clean. I don't understand why more people don't have them as pets. Once the we are done with the dogs, I'd have 2 good rats anyday.

Rats are great 😀 How did you potty train it?

Simple, really.

Here is the scenario. She resides above my computer desk. Her cage is on the top shelf. We put a tray of cat litter next to her cage, then left the door open. They really don't want to crap where they live, but are forced to. We gave her a choice, and she chose it. 🙂

Another thing about rats, is that they do not bite people normally, but never feed them thru the bars on their cage. They will confuse your fingers with food. Therefore, I usually make "Hailey" come out for her food, or I never put food thru the bars. This one was an early lesson for her.

Awesome rat you have there 🙂

3 emporer scorpions - easy to keep and fun to watch when they hunt crickets.
2 gerbils - very fun pets to play with.
3 hermit crabs - not really all that fun - don't really do alot.

i have 2 freshwater tanks, 1 salt water tank, 1 false map turtle, 1 bearded dragon, 1red foot tortoise, and 1 grey banded king snake.

Well, I couldn't figure out how to use the poll for multiple pets...
Have had during the past 12 months: half a dozen ducks, goose, multiple rabbits, chinchilla, numerous fish, pet tadpoles (only because the fish wouldn't eat them), lovebirds, cockatiels, hamsters, and mice. (some of them, such as the mice, were released minutes after their arrival at my house. I didn't want the mice... just the $50 cage they were in. No one else would bid on it (auction) because of the mice, so I got a brand new cage for a couple dollars)

not anymore, but we used to have several ferrets. We also have rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, rats, fishies, and I used to have some green anoles. Oh yeah, we also have a horse. This is in addition to three dogs and six cats. Yes I can't wait to leave.

I used to have ferrets, but had to give them away when my kid was born, they(the ferrets) played to rough to be around a little kid.
Now I have fish. In one tank i have an Oscar that will come to the top of the tank and let you drop food in his mouth(he's not spoiled) . In another tank i have 3 piranhas.
I am currently setting up a 105 gallon tank that i think will end up with Discus, and Bosemani Rainbows in it.

my parents have a pond in the garden with a few goldfish and a lot of newts in it, and dragon flies in the summer, and when i lived in egypt we had geckos come into the kitchen at night in search of insects to eat, they were really cute. gecko
