Currently I'm subscribed to:
forums.macromedia.com
msnews.microsoft.com
support-forums.novell.com

What other good newgroups are people using?

Currently-

rec.arts.sf.written
misc.fitness.weights
rec.photo.digital
talk.politics.mideast

But sadly, large parts of usenet seem to be dying due to the proliferation of web boards.

On a related subject...

Qwest changed over to MS and now I can't subscribe to ANY new groups..(it used to be.... news.qwest.net... be that no longer works..:( )

Anyone have qwest? Whats the new address to subscribe to news groups?

Or does anyone know of another way to get news groups?

Sure, man. Actually, I know there are several other places on the web that are professional newsgroup providers, but they cost money. I'm always told to refer my customers to Google or other search engines to look for newgroups, but apparently Google has it's own newsgroups. I wouldn't know, though. My company has the IT team block just about everything other than the main google search page and the results page. So exploring Google to find it for myself and help you set them up isn't an option.

...and I never remember to look while I'm at home :p

Sadly the newsgroups are a dying thing since all the forums and the web came about. There's still a large following, but nothing like it used to be. That's where I got help and info before on new tech. I don't even remember the last time I used them, I think it might have been for a video card problem, but now I just come to the forums.
