what new memory should i get <----- please, i need to buy today

i have found many good deals on www.hardcorecooling.com but dont know what type i should get.

my mobo is my mobo

specs on mobo

it says can take up to 4 GB dual channel PC3200, but i was wondering if i could get pc4000 or something, and if not, would it be worth the money to upgrade my PC2100 1GB single channel to dual channel PC3200 1 GB? (how much difference would i see and would this decrease any video lag i am having?)

if this does give an increase, would 1 512mb PC3200 dual = 1GB pc2100 single?

also, what exactly is RDRAM?

first: rdram is just another kind of ram, different from ddr, your mobo doesn't support it

second: dual channel just means that your north bridge can access two sticks of memory at once, does not change the amount of memory you have and really has nothing to do with the memory other than that you need two sticks (of equal sizes and probably identical) to make it work

third: the speed of memory you use will depend on what processor you are using and how much you plan to overclock, if you have an 800fsb processor you definitely don't want to be using 2100; 3200 at least or higher if you plan to oc much

i havent oc'd yet, but i do have an 800FSB, im using the 3GHZ P4, am i able to use higher than 3200 because on the specs it says up to 3200

geez, you're using pc2100 and an 800fsb processor? is it actually running at 800fsb? if so you have some pretty solid overclocking ram there. or is there a divider set?

you can use any speed ram you want, the ram will run at the speed you tell it to, unless you tell it to go too fast. so figure out how high you might want to oc, and find ram that is rated to go that fast. most ram will go a little past what it's rated for but it's usually best to get ram that is supposed to go as fast as you want it too

yes you can use 4400, it will run at 3200, would be a waste of money and probably wouldn't give you as tight of timings

as for that memory, dunno, never heard of elixir which makes me suspicious but there are people around here who know much more about memory brands than me. I personally have the the pc3500 version of this with a 2.8c and am happy with it except I wish I'd bought something that would go a little higher like this.

Get some corsair or mushkin ram from newegg. Don't like that place. Doesn't even show you the actual ram your getting. States on the page ram does not include heatspreader.
