What neat car did you see today?

I was driving by a school and I saw a younger looking beautiful lady loading a child into a BMX X5M Competition. I waited at the stoplight as she started it up, wasn't as impressive as I thought. Those things start at $125,000 and have over 600hp. I found out later it was the wife of a local surgeon, he is 56 and his wife is 24 lol but good for him. I hope he doesn't have a pool boy.
BMW M cars haven’t sounded good since the V8 and V10s in the E9x and E60 generations over a decade ago.

Speaking of old M cars, here’s a cool one. This was mine for a decade, sending it off to its buyer today. Bittersweet but I still have my E39 M5. I might replace this with an older 80s era 911 sooner or later.

OK this is cheating because it is from the Nethercutt Car museum. But it is a neat car and I did see it. Anyone in the Los Angeles area, I encourage you to go to the Nethercutt. There are 2 ways to see it. These cars are from The Collection. You can see other cars that are in the museum. Look at their website for details.

Something tells me he avoided having to pay sales tax when purchasing it.

It is probably registered to his LLC in Montana. Most likely he has a summer home there. But yeah, it makes sense to register expensive cars out of state to avoid our ridiculous registration fees and taxes. Tax, title and licensing on that car, in California, would have been $100k.

Most Montana LLCs used for car purchases are not even real legitimate LLCs. I highly doubt the guy has a home in Montana either. There are companies out there that will help setup a Montana LLC solely for vehicle purchases.

Perhaps. I know people who live in Newport Coast and have a second home in Jackson Hole.

Sweet ride bro. What did it run at the track?

I don't take my Mustang to the track but today I put a bushel of apples in the frunk. I know it's an apples to oranges comparison.

I posted the results in the other thread. You must have missed it.

This was neat. Rivian roof top tent. Seems that some companies actually put effort into their work, unlike say that complete hack of a tent Tesla is ripping off people with.

Came across Simcas on Pinterest. And, yes, I do know I'm weird.

They look far more American than French. Simca used to outsell Peugeot and Citroen in France. My cousin's family had one for a while. It was the only car I ever saw with a four on the tree!

1724536526645.jpegDo yall like Maybachs? I haven't seen any cool cars today as I haven't gone outside yet, but I took this picture in 2022 when I was visiting a friend in SC. This is from downtown Greenville.

Spotted this really cute Pontiac Solstice on a dealer lot. It is a really nice example of Pontiac trying to make a two seat roadster to take on the Miata. It's to bad it never really took off because it's a really cool car for what it is......

Anyway, I'm gonna post some pics of a neat car I saw today!
