What neat car did you see today?

Not to be mean. Just funny since you commented it looks like an Alfa 🙂

Honestly I've never even heard of a Stelvio before it was mentioned and had to google it.

The front end looked familiar though.. maybe from bond films.. but I couldn't remember which one.

Might also be why I thought of Aston Martin.

Sure, why wouldn't they?
I get mildly excited when I see a Tesla. Or some exotic car, like a Nismo GT-R or even Hummer. There are a bunch of Porsches and Ferraris parked outside a villa I pass by occasionally. My heart rate increases and I wanna touch them. Even hug them. Brain intervenes. "Don't mess with rich people!"

I think the Rivian is ugly AF 😛
Teslas are pretty common out here. I do tend to see more exotic cars relatively often in Seattle. There's someone who lives less than a mile from me that has two classic Porsches.

The truck looks great. The SUV looks like an afterthought.

I've seen several that most people would find interesting but can't recall most of them (stuff like Urus, various Porsches - think with maybe a GT4 Cayman and a 911 GT3 or two). I did see a 360 Spyder the other day, which is probably my dream Ferrari (back before Ferrari decided to turn into TVR and overstyle the hell out of their cars - although weirdly, I prefer the California design over the Roma which has the more classically styled design - the Roma is good looking too but is a little "pointy" where I'd prefer a bit more rounded, like the shape of the rear 3/4 glass; really take the front fascia and hood of the Roma, the side and rear of the Portofino, and the and headlights and hardtop of the original California). It was baby blue (or whatever the light blue-almost silverish color is) with a dark blue top, which wouldn't be my choice (dark red with dark tan top I think, or maybe dark green) but it was a decent combo. Truth is, I don't think I'd want a 360 unless I could get it with a modern transmission as I don't want a full manual and I think those early "F1" transmissions would be too janky.

Here's the color combo I saw:

I'd want it like this but with different, bronze almost copper-ish wheels. Or maybe dark green with the bronze leaning more towards gold).

Wheels more like this:

I have warmed to the 458, but the tear ducts (both headlights and the air intake-3/4 glass) and the catfish looking headlights/fascia keeps me from loving it.

Check this out!

Darling wife was driving and this abomination crossed for the photo op.

I'm sure its awful to drive but with maybe a couple of inches smaller overall wheel/tire (and probably an inch or two smaller than current relative size wheel) and I think it'd look decent. Well maybe not as I don't think the wheels (either design or color, ignoring size) fit the boxy Challenger body and silver with the green isn't a good match. But, I rather like the wheels, and would love to see one of those airless wheel/tire designs go for something similar.

not the first time I've seen one but the first time I've seen one walking and driving by me and stopped at a light, a Rivian, vs a glance at one driving fast.

That's a sexy looking car. I thought by the photos it looked nice but in person, it's pretty gorgeous.

I also think the Rivian truck looks 100x better than the Rivian SUV, which is weird because it's essentially the same design, but the truck itself looks REALLY good in person!

This was definitely the SUV. I thought it looked pretty sweet. It's not the greatest looking car in the world or anything like that, but it's pretty dope.

Guys, guys. A vehicle does not hug you back. It is no friend of people or animals it runs over. It's a source of pollution. It can even get you killed if its brakes fail. So tone down the drooling 😛

Yeah I really like the way the truck looks and the suv isn't bad either but I really like the truck. Just like you I had only seen photos online or in passing at high speeds on the road. It wasn't until I got to see both of them up close and got to walk around them that I really appreciated the exterior appearance.

Yeah we are on the same page. I did go look at the truck now and I can see it does look better than the SUV, but the SUV is already kind of sleek.

They definitely went a bit out on a limb with some of the design choices but it just works. They pulled it off.

If I had money to bet with I'd buy some of their stock if I felt they would get enough investment to start producing more models at better price points but let that design aesthetic and quality stay across their product line.

I was out driving around Sunday afternoon and decided to cruise through the local Chevy lot. Didn't really see to much of interest at first until I was driving behind Blazer row and noticed one of them didn't have any tail pipes. This thing was just hanging out with all the other new Blazers.

Looks really generic from the outside. If it wasn't for the lack of exhaust I would have driven right by it. The interior looked busy af which is typical for GM but I couldn't get inside to look closer because it was a Sunday.

Anyway, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV.
