What near future games are comming out to justify...

upgrading to a G71 or a R580 besides maybe UT2007 which isn't comming out for a while? I was thinking about this as I was researching this new GPUs. It seems to me that by the time any pc games that come out that have better graphics than current games, the G80 and R600 will have already been out.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights 2, Gothic 3... These seem pretty demanding...

I think Splinter Cell 4 is supposed to come out in a few months. UT2007 is expected later in the year. Although I want a G71 more for playing my existing games at max settings.

Same here-I'm basically limited to 1280 X 960 but to be able to play bf2, COD2, heck even battlefield vietnam at that res with 6 or 8AA, 16AF, at max settings and no need for SLI would be SWEET!

EDIT: But your GT will probably do fine with these games... Wait for R600 or G80...

Agreed, by the look of things, this game might be twice as better as BF2 and run prefectly fine. (Im intrigued by the use of this newly created "mega textures")

Its based on the doom3 engine as well.

you got that right....this looks like one hell of a game, hopefully my 7800GT's in SLI will get me through till the end of this year, if not into next year
