I'm seeing a few topics about FSB lateley.

Just wondering what multiplier and FSB you are running your Durons (duron 700's particularly).

I've got an MSI K7T Pro2a and I've just ordered my conductive ink pen from RadioShack so I'm curious as to what multiplier & FSB you guys are using for the most stable 900-1000mhz OC.

Thanks

no multiplier OC yet. currently at Duron 700 @ 805 (7x115). ordering a conductive pen soon, pencil trick works but not well... when pencilled the chip will do 960 (8.5x113). Gotta get me a conductive pen soon! peace out. btw, MSI KT7 Pro2a has multiplier issues... for me anyway!

I've got my 700 running at 133*7=933MHz, but I do have a KT133A-based board (Epox 8kta3) so I doubt your MSI could get this high on the FSB unless you opt for the new Turbo

I'm currently running pretty stable at 107 x 9 on my Duron (700@963). It won't do a multiplier > 9 (re-doing the bridges at least let me get a multiplier > 8.5), nor can I up the FSB above ~108/109 with a lower multiplier and get it to reliably POST. :(

I was able to get the FSB up to 109 (x 9 multiplier) and it POSTed, but I would need much better cooling to stablize it (it currently has a FOP32-1 with arctic silver).

A straight 100 x 10 was impossible as was something with a FSB of 110 or higher. Could be a need to re-do the bridges (I used the defogger kit) to get it to POST with that FSB and a lower multiplier. The OCers BIOS (1.6 I believe - not sure if it's the same as the one in that long thread in the motherboard forum) got me the extra Vcore selections of 1.825V and 1.850V, which helps keep it pretty stable at its OC.

Poof,

Do you get the error message on boot-up with the OC bios???

I can't remember what the error message said. But nontheless I had to flash back to the current non-beta bios to make it go away.

No... no error messages. I'm not sure if what I have is the same as what that thread was talking about, although I got my version probably around the same time that that thread started... I'm wondering if I maybe have an earlier OC'ers BIOS... :frown:

Also, I forgot to mention voltage??

What voltage are guys running these chips at (hell, I don't even know what the default voltage is. This is my first non-intel chip)

I'm running mine at 1.850V.

The default is ~1.6V for the 700s I believe and 1.7V for the higher Mhz.
