What musical acts do you really like...

Rush is one of my favorite bands, but they've also put out a lot of crap, like Test For Echo and Vapor Trails.

The Flower Kings frequently disappoint, too.

I love Queensryche, but anything after "Hear In The Now Frontier" is very disappointing.

Metallica: Load, Reload and St. Anger. I expected Death Magnetic to suck big time, but they actually came out with a really good album, better than the Black Album in my opinion...

None. All the musicians I listen to have stellar careers. Other than the occasional beat album, they've been good from beginning to end.

Bob Dylan
Duke Ellington
Glenn Miller
Pink Floyd
Grateful Dead
Sigur Ros
Many many more

I do stand corrected though. Fleetwood Mac really let me down after the bitches joined. I made a post about this awhile ago. They went from exceptional blues/rock, to cokehead fluff.

Royksopp – the latest album Junior is electro-Madonna pop music, not the moody electronic chillout I loved them for. 🙁

Bands suck because they offer an inconsistent brand experience, which is horrible for business. Wish they'd keep that in mind ...

Depeche Mode. Everything up to and including Violator was great. 90% of their stuff after has been horrible, even more so since Dave and Martin have gotten off the booze/drugs. But I keep buying their albums with futile optimism.

Led Zep after IV

Ouch, Presence is one of their finest.

Eh, Achilles Last Stand is the only really good tune on that one, IMO.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Admittedly it's a challenging album to listen to but it's Page's finest hour as far as skill and writing and emotion. There is a lot of negative energy and emotion surrounding that album and it shines through in a good way in my opinion. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their own viewpoint but I suggest you give it another listen sometime. Tea For One is a fucking masterpiece.

U2 - great album, poor album, great album, poor album.

It is like they release an album like Pop and then make up for it with "All that you can't leave behind"

I have yet to get their last album, Get on your boots did nothing for me, but the album seems to have gotten good reviews so we shall see.

Heh, I'm giving it another listen right now...

More like post-Pinkerton aka post Matt Sharp
I don't know a ton about Weezer but I think they lost quite a bit of their artistic direction with Matt Sharp. I still enjoy the Green Album quite a bit though. It makes me think of a great time in my life too I guess.
