I have to do a little background reading about that song. Because in every videoclip or live on stage , the main singer in the center is singing in the microphone , but i still hear a dude.

It seems Ruth Pointer can sing in a very low voice : Contralto.
If i listen carefully, i do hear a typical woman voice, just very low in vocal range.
