I'm suprised the matrix fan boys haven't chimed in yet.

Well, since you brought it up... 😀
The Matrix didn't just touch me, though. It choked me, ripped my eyes out their sockets, and gave me a heart attack. Talk about a thrill ride.

CChaos - definitely agree with you on the John Irving novels. They are all great and make you think.

Several people have named "Stand By Me". I would encourage you folks to read the book. It's a short story by Steven King. The book focuses on some deeper levels that unfortunately were not carried over to the film.

For thought provoking dialogue, My Dinner With Andre.

Fight Club ... I'm not an aggressive guy, but after watching that movie I started getting into fights over stuff that I'd normally wouldn't even bother about.

Shawshank Redemption ... wow, blew me away - perseverance, edurance, ingenuity, discipline, patience

Mortal Kombat ... Come here!

Vanilla Sky has touched me. It makes you think about life.

Yeah, that was a good one.

You should watch the original one. Vanilla Sky was a lame Hollywood carbon copy of a Spanish movie called Abre Los Ojos (Open your eyes). I understand when they wanted to bring the movie to the English speaking US, but that was a lame rip off. Abre Los Ojos was better.

I first thought of this one too. Excellent movie but really sad.
