Fight Club.

That said, I rather liked Waterworld. It was overhyped and way too costly to make, but it was a decent movie. Mad Max of the High Seas.

this is one of the funniest movies ever! you gotta look at it in perspective. they guy bought the rights to the movie and dubbed his voice in for 99% of the actors! hilarious!

I agree. Kung Pow dared to be different and some can't get past that unfortunetly.

It's gotta be;

Contact (w/ Jodie Foster)

&

Independence Day (Never have I seen the most wretched over-acting in my life and plot lines that can be seen light years ahead of time)

You guys are NUTS! I just watched it again last night. Excellent movie!

I'll have to agree with you on this one, Electric Amish. BOTW was different enough from your standard Hollywood movie (because it was French) and it also combined several genre to make it interesting. Another plus is the fact that you get to see Monica Bellucci naked.

" 'Dry land is not a myth. I've seen it.' -Kevin Costner, Waterworld. I don't know what the big fuss is about. I saw that movie nine times. It rules!" -Chip Douglas

I can't believe I am seeing American Psycho, Brotherhood of the Wolf, and Band of Brothers on this list, but to each his own I guess.

Wow , was Lost in Translation hyped up to crap. That movie had no substance. Yeah it was well formed and executed, but it means nothing. Critics stink.

And the worst movies are the ones we didn't even bother to go see. Who the hell actually watched gigli?

I didn't think anyone would mention it, but I believe you're the first. Dusk Till Dawn 2 was the worst movie I have ever sat through. If you can believe this, they actually made a Dusk Till Dawn 3, also straight to video.
:D Nice to see I'm not the only one with masochistic tastes in b-movies here. (Just saw Split Second again last night after about 8 years. Damn, cheesy movie!! Rutger Hauer in the movie plays his character like how James Woods would do it. Or rather Rutger plays it like Tim Thomerson playing James Woods playing the character. But it's an amusing rental if you liked Thomerson's Full Moon stuff.)

Actually, from what I've read about it, FDTD 3 is supposed to be a pretty decent flick. Certainly rated better on IMDB. It's a western that becomes a horror. I've been trying to rent it for a bit, but can't find any place decent that has it.

serialb, you paid $8 for Drac 2? Damn. I didn't even know that was unleased on theaters! I got mine as a free rental.

Sysadmin, Underworld was a movie with some great concepts and ideas behind it, enough of a budget to realize what it wanted to do, but a piss poor execution. There were just so many things it did not do that it could/should have, and the end was overly drawn out and tedious.

Allright!!! Split Second is a GREAT movie. It's on my list of DVD's to buy. :D

Ok, after last night I have a new one to add to the list that I don't think I saw in this post yet. The New Guy is as absolutely atrocious and stereotypical as you one can get in modern film making. I had the misfortune of seeing some of it on Starz last night. There was no originality, real plot or sense of depth in this turkey. It was as if they culled pieces of every low brow comedy every made and decided to make it their "own" which isn't saying much.

As if things could be worse I couldn't get over the sheer ugliness of the lead character played by DJ Qualls. I think he makes Steve Buscemi (Once Upon a Time in Mexico, etc.), look attractive.

Just got started here, so I don't know if it was mentioned but Showgirls is an abomination. Even the sex scenes were brutally awful.
