Many of my favorite movies have had sequels, unfortunately they usually suck.

Not really. Two of the mains are dead, and most of the storyline is resolved. It'd be like doing a Star Wars 7.

How about Fear and Loathing in the Super Bowl, or on the Campaign Trail, or another great Hunter S. Thompson piece? Gilliam, Depp, and Del Toro are all still around to make another. They should do it!

Bill Murray played Thompson in Where the Buffalo Roam. He did a better job IMO but the movie seems to lack a plot.

Well, they are supposed to be doing another Ghostbusters, although I'm skeptical that it'll be worth watching. Fletch would suck because Chevy Chase sucks now, and I can't think of another person that would work in that role.

I liked the corny humor Chase had. I'm not sure how his comedy is these days because I haven't seen him act in a looooong time.

I'd love to see another one but as a reboot with Marvel at the helm.

Johnny Depp's portrayal was much closer to the actual Hunter S Thompson. Murray was good, more of a physical resemblance, sure, but for F&L, Depp just fit perfectly.

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins

That movie sucked so hard I can't believe they ever made it in the first place...why would they make a second?

No it didn't. It was halfway decent, it just didn't capture the spirit of the books. So it was too weird for the mainstream action film fan and too off base for the Remo devotees.

Minority Report. One of my favorite movies ever, and although it ended well, the precogs just have so much potential as characters...

Army of Darkness II anyone? Surely there'd be more deadites running around.

There must be a second Hot Fuzz. There simply must be.

A 3rd of John Carpenter's Escape series. I'm a sucker for Snake Plisskin! :D

Another Ronin movie could be good.

I wish Bubba Nosferatu and the She-Vampires hadn't died in development :(

Mr & Mrs Smith.

Over the Hedge

I've been waiting for Free Enterprise 2: My Big Fat Geek Wedding for a couple years now. Looks like that project is dead.

War of the Worlds has some potential for a sequel. Think about this: What's left of the world has access to all the alien's technology, we know what kills them, and we'd be rightly pissed. WotW 2: Invasion Mars!

I heard talks of a prequel a few years back with Jason Lee in the role of Fletch. That would have been good. Looks like it's still on. Called Fletch Won though without Lee now :(

Saw. We really need another Saw movie. Maybe by Halloween or something.
They've stated there's going to be one more Saw movie (I heard they always had it planned as a 6 movie series), and that's not counting the one coming out in 2 weeks.

Unless it's a prequel, considering what happened to the protagonist, that wouldn't really work.

Dark Horse comics did 3 series as sequels to the movie. The first two would make an absolute badass sequel! I don't know if Kurt could pull it off, though.

Speaking of Dark Horse, their series Predator: Bad Blood would make a wicked Predator 3. You have the government, the good guys caught in the middle, a truly psycho predator and the equivalent of a predator cop all tearing around the pine barrens of New Jersey trying to kill each other.

With Eastwood?

Or do you think a reboot of the franchise may be possible? Problem there being who would be bad-ass enough for the lead.

I'd disagree with you there, the reason I thought Murray did better was I thought he was more accurate of the real Thompson. Depp turns him into a cartoon character, I think he did a very good job but was somewhat over the top. I do think the physical resemblance helped Murray a lot though.
