What movie is this?

All I remember is this one scene...

The main character is a guy and one of his contact is a girl who gets killed in her apartment. Her apartment has a lot of mirrors. The guy shows up too late to stop her, but he grabs a "missing pet" flier off the printer and circles certain letters on it to find a hidden message.

Know what movie I'm talking about? I'm wracking my brains and I can't figure it out. Racking?

Dude... you have to give more than 40 mins. Isn't the rule you can't bump your own thread more often than 4 hours apart?

I looked it up and it's not Bad Boys. I think the tone of the movie in question is slightly more serious.. kinda like Bourne/Shooter style. But I could very well be wrong =(

Not Top Gun either.

I remember the guy is getting chased by a group of (I want to say Japanese mafia or something) baddies, but they get to his girlfriend/friend before he does and kills her. When the guy gets there he sees her body, then he kind of traces the steps of what happened (the baddies came in, threatened her, slammed her up against the glass wall, shot her). I think he pulls a gun out from behind the glass wall too on his way out.

The most memorable part is still him grabbing that missing pet notice and circling letters to get the secret message his friend left him before she died.

that rule only applies to For Sale threads

No and no.. it's a newish movie.

I feel kind of bad like I'm stringing you guys on, but I SWEAR this movie exists. New movie too. I'm really surprised nobody recognizes it. Maybe my description is just really bad?

do you recognize any actor/actress? perhaps you've seen them on another show/movie? I'm usually good at the whole six degrees of so and so.
