pic (the one with the red wig)

A friend of mine introduced me to her and I recently saw this picture - i *know* i've seen that character in a movie but I can't figure out which one. I think it's a classic movie - i swear the simpson's parodied it years ago.

No idea. I think a smashing pumpkins video (tonight, tonight- maybe?) referenced these same characters - they lived on the moon and popped up from craters.

i think this is what you are talking about, the moon movie thing

A scene from the "Tonight, Tonight" music video, winner of the MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year in 1996. Drawing heavy influence from Georges Méliès' A Trip to the Moon, the video was filmed in the style of a turn-of-the-century silent film using theater-style backdrops and primitive special effects.

Thanks! That's the movie I was talking about, but the creatures don't seem similar now that I look at them. Ever see the simpson's episode with the slow storm? Remember that low-rent version of the Grinch starring Christmas Goblins? What was that a reference of? Anyone know?
