Well I think we can rule out Star Wars. Does that help? :p

My first instinct was Twister, but that's nothing more than a hunch.

Twister was my first thought, but on second glance I think not. Not really sure tbh.

Anyone recognize the actor?

well it looks like you can see the top portion of a yellow euro plate on that car, so I'd think the movie would take place somewhere in europe.

when are we going to have an internet search engine where you can scan in an image and have it search for that image? that would be awesome.

That is a tiny picture.
My guess is "October Sky"

A hatchback like that in the 1950s ?

 A fair point, I didn't really inspect the car too close, just saw the sky and rural and it popped into my head.

Agreed. If you look at the production pics it has the guy with the black pants and white stripes. even has the same looking sky which i am to guess is an 'October Sky" hehe.

EDIT: whoops referenced the wrong movie for the right reason hehe.

Interesting British movie - man goes away to serve in armed forces, leaving behind a mentally challenged brother. While away, the locals harass the brother culminating in some unspecified event. Upon returning, the soldier exacts his revenge on them, one at a time. Ending is the kind which is becoming partly predictable as more films use it, but still a good movie.
