Oh you sweet, sweet man. I am in  The best use of music in a movie I've ever seen is when they're at the end of the movie chasing down Magua after the burning at the stake.Originally posted by: Fingolfin269
Are we talking about movies with popular music as the soundtrack? Or instrumental?
Last of the Mohicans!
As Fingolfin probably knows, this movie was filmed very close to where he lives - Asheville, NC at a small, privately owned park called Chimney Rock. It is beautiful country. I have walked on the very cliff where Magua bites it. At the base of Chimney Rock is Lake Lure - the place they filmed Dirty Dancing. It is a really great place to spend the weekend. It's my favourite movie of all time I think. My brothers would get a huge kick out of me taking a picture up on that rock - so it's easy to get up there? I'm dead serious now that I want to do it.

No flames here. I was actually going to say The Empire Strikes Back. A New Hope started it all, but The Empire Strikes Back has such an expanded, humongous range of themes and textures that I feel it has no equal. And I own well over 200 orchestral scores.Originally posted by: Mnementh
Probably gonna get flamed for this but I have to say it... Star Wars Ep IV
John Williams has no master when it comes to evocative music that paints a picture in you mind that matches whats on the screen.

Very good also. I liked his X-Men score but I'm confused about why he didn't do X-2.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile
What about (the now deceased) Michael Kamen's score for Band of Brothers?
Bryan Singer (the director of X-Men and X2) has always worked with John Ottman to do both the composing and editing on his pictures. At the time the original X-men was in post-production, Ottman wasn't available to edit or score the picture because he was busy DIRECTING (the unnecessary sequel) Urban Legends: Final Cut. Yes, the guy has a wide range of abilities. Kamen was hired to score in his place.Originally posted by: aves2k

The Good, the bad and the ugly
Ennio Morricone rocks
The Mission is awesome until the last three tracks. They give me a headache. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is fantastic all the way through, and it works wonders within the film.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile

Wow. You forget Ennio's absolute best: The Mission.
