Oh you sweet, sweet man. I am in  The best use of music in a movie I've ever seen is when they're at the end of the movie chasing down Magua after the burning at the stake.Originally posted by: Fingolfin269
Are we talking about movies with popular music as the soundtrack? Or instrumental?
Last of the Mohicans!

No flames here. I was actually going to say The Empire Strikes Back. A New Hope started it all, but The Empire Strikes Back has such an expanded, humongous range of themes and textures that I feel it has no equal. And I own well over 200 orchestral scores.Originally posted by: Mnementh
Probably gonna get flamed for this but I have to say it... Star Wars Ep IV
John Williams has no master when it comes to evocative music that paints a picture in you mind that matches whats on the screen.

As Fingolfin probably knows, this movie was filmed very close to where he lives - Asheville, NC at a small, privately owned park called Chimney Rock. It is beautiful country. I have walked on the very cliff where Magua bites it. At the base of Chimney Rock is Lake Lure - the place they filmed Dirty Dancing. It is a really great place to spend the weekend.

My brothers would get a huge kick out of me taking a picture up on that rock - so it's easy to get up there? I'm dead serious now that I want to do it.
