<< ya, assault on pct 13, love that - sooooo realistic
and the shootout at the END of wild bunch, when they all get killed.

there was also a movie set in louisiana swamps about national guard or reserve guys on a weekender
in the forest, with only blank ammo for their m-16's, when a bunch of bayou cajuns try and kill them off
because they stumbled onto an illegal meat slaughtering ring (if i remember right)
very true to life, a real white knuckler

And that modern day pirate movie, that mind controlled a guys son when they stumbled onto the island, at
the end the father takes ma duce on a ravaged coast guard cutter and mows them all down.

That vietnam movie where they mostly get wasted at the end, that guy with the pump shotgun with the
extra shell on his ear, just waiting for "charlie" to make a move past him, great combat footage.

Your thinking of Southern Comfort and The Island the third one I'm not sure about.

Definitely not the best, but a great shootout scene is in the first Cohen brothers movie, Blood Simple, where the bullets are flying through the wall and the sunlight streams into the dark room through the holes. Very cool flick.
