an AMD Athlon 1.4 Ghz CPU (266 Mhz FSB)? Also I'm just assuming the 266 FSB is better vs. the 200 FSB, but I honestly don't know what it is. Could anyone explain? Also could someone explain what the DDR is? I see it on better mobo's, but not sure why its better. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

ddr is "double data rate" ram and it IS faster than pc133, but it's also a little more expensive.

Ifyou already have some ram lying around, and want to use it in your new system, you can stick with pc133.

my favorite pc133 tbird mobo is the asus a7v133. if you want to buy (and use) ddr, then you need a mobo that can handle ddr.

yes,you should be buying a 266 fsb tbird..and also make sure you get a 266 fsb capable mobo (the a7v133 is one)

Pardon me for butting into this thread with an off topic comment but I just wanted to say that everytime I read your sig, Socrates, I laugh. Having seen that movie I can clearly picture Jeff Bridges saying that. "That and whoa man...watch the beverage".

I have a Soltek sl75kav Mobo (click here to see a review) and I love it! It's a great board for overclocking, and it supports 133/266Mhz FSB... and I got it for around 120$ here in Denmark where things are a bit more expensive than normal... (the Asus A7v133 costs around 180$)...
