What Mother Bard do you use to o/c your PIII??

i have a p3v4x/533... i think it's kinda crappy... i cant go past fsb133 on my p3 600 coppermine... right now it's o/c@ 800... it can post at 856mhz but it's unstable... it runs cool..

i was supspecting it was the mobo.. but it could have just pushed my cpu to the limit... i have my voltage set at 1.9volts adn it's running at a temp of 40C

Built a p3v4x and it ran a 700 at 910. Also built soyo 6ba+iv and 100 they both ran a 750 at 945. Make sure you have quality ram and it looks like you are about where you should be. HTH

P3V4X. P3-700 coppermine running stable @ 933. In the past I've taken other P3-700's on this mobo past 1GHz, and on the other P3V4X a Celeron2 700 running at 840 MHz.

It's most likely your cpu or your memory (set it to HSTCLCK-33, just to test). The P3V4X should be able to handle 143Mhz FSB...

As far as 150Mhz FSB goes, the other boards I've used that could run at that speed reliably (assuming all of your components can tolerate 37.5Mhz on the PCI bus) are the Aopen AX6BC (BX) and the Tyan Trinity 400 (Via Apollo Pro 133A). Stay away from all BX Abit boards; none of them can handle higher than 143-145 Mhz FSB. The Soyo SY-6VCA also won't handle anything higher than 145Mhz reliably (maybe with some better cooling on the north bridge, but I have never bothered to try), and if anyone has a SY-7VCA, I am curious to know if you've had better luck. btw, the Trinity 400 is one of the rare Via mobos that doesn't have a heatsink on the northbridge, but yet, it is extremely reliable, at any setting (well, we do know that Tyan doesn't set their settings very aggressively, but nonetheless, the stability should be praised)!

I haven't personally had a chance to test any 815 mobos for high FSB's.

I have a Soyo 6BA +100 BX motherboard that runs a Slot1 P3 600 at 900 (150MHz FSB). At 155, video locks up on games but I think that's AGP (radeon LE) related since it's running AGP at 100MHz.

600 @ 900! ,you lucky git!😉

I have a PIII 650 @ 820(126 FSB)on my Soyo 6BA+III (older brother of your board😉) ,any higher & I get weird fonts & other odd corruptions.I think its the Hercules MX2 that doesn't like the high AGP because I was able to borrow a Hecules Kyro II & was then able to go up to 137 MHz (890MHz cpu) before I got the odd fonts.

Sounds like your memory would be the likely weak link.
