what MOTHA to buy with 70$ :-)-- Im narrowning them down

I have a ECS K7S5A now. Its a 45$ motherboard that has worked well for a while but i think its slow and pickey about videocards.



I had DDR memory and a XP 1600

I really like abit boards.

In your price range the KG7 is the only Abit worthwhile, and it is a good overclocker but the chipset itself is actually slightly slower than the SiS735@stock speeds. You could get a AK31A for 59$ and have the newer KT266A chipset and it overclocks well for a budget board.

If you don't care about overclocking, K7VAT3 3.1 (ECS KT333) is $72 on newegg. Raid, LAN, and what Anand thought was the best onboard sound quality. Step aside purple ray, This one's a nice shade too.

I have to give you another vote for the Shuttle AK31a. It is a stable board with good overclocking. I, myself am weary about ECS boards (I have put together a couple cheap systems with the K7S5a, but I wouldn't use any of their other boards).

What about the A7S333?
(In case that link didn't work, that's an ASUS A7S333).

It seems pretty decent for $72, it uses a SIS chip, but we're not stuck with ECS quality.
But it's hard to verify b/c there's a dearth of information on the board.
