I'm thinking about the Sony G-400, the 19" one. Anyone have any opinions on this monitor or a worthy competitor to it?

Hey Jeebus, over in the for sale forum there is a thread for the G400 and lots of people who own one have posted comments. You might want to check it out here.
 
That's an excellent monitor! Aperture Grille monitors give better and brighter color clarity than Shadow Mask monitors such as my TTX-1770.

Get it especially if the price is right.
 
I don't feel like explaining it all (did so so much!) so search the forums for 19" monitors or for the G400 specifically. You'll find a lot of threads on it and 19" monitors.
 
On my 2nd PC I use a 19" 900NF and its a great monitor. Running it at 1600x1200 @85hz and the text is sharp.
