Large fonts are your friend :) but badly coded apps get hosed when they can't scale with them. *cough* CCC *cough*

Samsung SyncMaster 900P, 19" CRT, going strong after 7 years. 16x12 @ 75. My eyes aren't too sensitive for that, so I've used it from day 1.

Do you play games on it? If yes, how good do you think it is for games? I'm probably getting its successor, the 2090UXi this month...

For games i like it very much, the colours are fantastic and the response time (16ms) is enough for me, the blacks are great too. Its much much better than my old Viewsonic VP171B. The only quirk with it is the fact that the whites are uneven and slightly yellow (by slight i mean very slight) on the bottom half of the screen when using the 93k colour temperature. However bumping the contrast to 46.8% (default is 50%) evens the whites out & removes the yellowness. Ive had 2 of these monitors and both have suffered from this. Hopefully this may not apply to the newer 2090UXi panel.

ADI V95F - 19" Flat CRT
(I think they're only sold in the southern hemisphere - that's why you guys in the US haven't heard of them)

Samsung 244T. I have never seen a monitor as good as this one. Widescreen, high-res, large desktop area, and the pixel pitch is small enough to reduce the need for AA in games. I'm so glad I saved enough to get this over the $900 24"ers.

OP, there are at least three ways to raise the size of your fonts:
- increase DPI
- raise font size to large or extra large
- manually raise font sizes, etc. in Advanced in your Appearance tab in the Display Properties

My main PC's monitor is the Samsung 204T (20" LCD)
My older PC's monitor is the first LCD i owned, a Sharp 17"

Dell 2405FPW as main monitor. Dell P1130 off to the side that's hooked off but usually off. It can be enabled if I need or want to use dual monitors.

You can also change font size in your programs. Opera allows for zooming in/out with control + scroll wheel.
