Why wouldn't you want 8.1? You install classic shell and you have the same UI interface as windows 7 and a much better, faster OS with full DX 11.1/11.2 support.
 
read your post, decided to abandon the "im gonna use win8 like its supposed to" idea I had and installed classic shell. Thank you.
