What mobile OS do you prefer?

Try to stick to what you like about your OS, not what you don't like about others.

- Good application support
- Attractive and customizable interface
- Open development
- Excellent integration with other Google products
- Runs on all of the top mobile hardware
- Easy to mod with exceptional community support

I'm also a fan of Maemo since it's by far the most open mobile os however the Nokia N900 is getting pretty long in the tooth compared to the Droid X and Galaxy S.

I have no problems using the others though. I play with iOS every day since I have an iPad.

Android because it is available on lots of phones from lots of carriers and has pretty good community support.

Not married to it, though. There are a lot of problems with the OS itself. If I didn't have to consider carrier support, available hardware, and the community, I might well pick WebOS or (when it comes out) Windows Phone 7.

WebOS is great for its implementation of multitasking, synergy, UI, extensibility and community support. Unfortunately it lacks home screen widgets (I like glanceable information), and seriously lacks support from app developers.

Still, I do prefer using WebOS to the others at the moment.

WebOS is great, but the Pre and Pixi are both too small for me.

i really hope HP does something good with that. such promise but it doesn't have the flood that android has or the halo that iphone has.

Seriously, I'm not voting because I've heard so many good things about Web OS and haven't used it.

The one thing I really like about Android is the free Navigation app, I like iOS's GUI much better though.

If Apple would allow a Google Nav app, I'd switch to an iPhone almost immediately.

Seriously, I'm not voting because I've heard so many good things about Web OS and haven't used it.

The one thing I really like about Android is the free Navigation app, I like iOS's GUI much better though.

If Apple would allow a Google Nav app, I'd switch to an iPhone almost immediately.

WebOS was a treat to use in the week I had my Pre Plus. Hopefully it'll get the hardware it deserves to put it back on the table, so to speak.

-memory leaks galore
-java based, developed in 2002 with no updates
-browser is awesomely horrific
-tons of apps, and by tons i mean like in the 100's
-extremely uncustomizable

Android by far. And this is coming from an Apple fan where I prefer to develop on a macbook(see sig).

So easy to customize
Amazing navigation app for free.
Easy to make it look good but also easy to make it look bad(seen some horrific wallpapers and icons)

I know. I really hope HPalm comes through. WebOS 2.0 is due out sometime in the near-ish future (give me bluetooth voice dialing!!!), but I need a hardware announcement. Right now, WP7 has my future interest.

This is one thing that I also like about Android. Also you can develop on Win/Linux/OSX too which is a nice option.

Obviously I voted Android.

I like tinkering, so Android is perfect for me. I flash different ROMs about once a week, I love being able to customize the phone (clock speed, cache size, everything) to my current liking. Also, the dev community are awesome. I find myself contributing to different dev's beer funds quite regularly.

I've had four Nokia+Symbian devices since my first smartphone experience of Nokia 6620 back in 2004 and I loved all of them. In fact all of them are still operational today, with at least two of them being actively used as a main handset (the ones I gave to my wife and my uncle).

As you all know though Symbian is struggling to keep up in the past year or so. So I'm hanging by a thread now with a 2.5 year-old Nokia E51, ready to taste some other OS.

So yeah, OSs, this is the time to show me your best and I'll be your biggest fan
