-Single (three) Player dungeons. Blizzard could create dungeons that are single player with two bots (healer, tank, whatever...depends what class you play), just like a few quests do. These dungeons should be fairly difficult, but not impossible. Loot doesn't have to be spectacular, but should be somewhere near the level of heroics gear.
-Better system for finding groups. Because lets face it, no one uses the current system.

I actually REALLY like this idea, but I don't see how they could use an NPC tank on pulls unless you had a hunter redirect all the time.

You might checkout EQ again, with the SoD expansion they introduced mercenaries. Basically bots for hire, you can choose a healer or a tank. I've been playing again for a few weeks, it's actually kinda fun!

How are the graphics these days? I gave away my three EQ accounts when WoW came out.

The graphics in the newer zones is improved, however I'm not really a good judge on that subject as I box three accounts and turn down the graphics settings.

Unless EQ has changed you will need more than one Merenaries, to get good equipmet. The good equipmet use to come only by Raids that took a long time to do and the folks needed to be use to each other or be abel to follow the raid leader good for the raids to be done right.
I would guess that you would need to be in a very good Guild to get into good raids and then they uslay except you to be on line at certain times 3 days a week usaly.

Yes, it definitely gets better with the expansions. I'd start with Nightfall, IMO it's the best campaign, plus you'll get heroes to use in the others.

Only problem is, this thread is about MMO's and Guild Wars isn't an MMO.

Oblivion. Why play a MMO by yourself? I don't get it.

Because there is still a living economy. You can still chat with people while playing. You can pass lowbies en route to your destination and give them buffs. You can still join the occasional group if you wanted. I typically prefer to solo, unless the group I'm in is all competent and not constantly afk. Most groups that I've been, especially when I played EQ1, took their sweet time way too much. Plus, all the phat lewts you get when solo go directly in your own pocket =)

Many times a solo experience can be MUCH more rewarding, and MUCH less frustrating than your typical group experience. This is different of course if you are lucky enough to have a handful of real life friends that you can play with regularly and rely on and trust, etc.

I agree with everything in this post.

Which is why I don't play MMO's anymore. Lack of solo content and gimping of classes to force grouping. Being in a group is too much like work, trying to corral 5/10/30 people into working together can be a chore and really detracts from the fun.

Sure in a perfect situation with friends where you don't need to tell people what to do and when to do it, and there's no squabbling over loot etc, it can be fun. But those situations are far from the norm in my experience. It only takes one immature player to ruin it for everyone, which can mean hours of lost time potentially.

Wow, must have messed up that quote. Meant to use that quote to start my post.
Anyway, the game is not out yet, but the Bioware MMO The Old Republic is supposed to have a really good storyline.

Personally, it really frosts me that they abandoned the single player KOTOR franchise, but if you are wanting to try an MMO with good single player content, when it comes out this might be it. As for myself however, I totally refuse to play MMOs for the reasons stated by other posters. I must admit however I liked the single player KOTOR games so much that TOR will temp me to give it a trial.

I agree too. I think it has something to do with their believing that the social cohesion is what keeps people playing (take out the l from that word) so they force it.

I played Diablo 2 almost entirely by playing online characters (losing most of them when they expire), just to 'keep the option open' for playing with others, but I actually played with anyone almost never. It's just not a game design well suited to socializing, it's hunt fast grab loot and avoid jerks. So I played it as a single-player game with online chars.

I've warned all but one of my RL friends *away* from MMO's, oh well.
