What microcassette tape speed do I want to use?

It's a 60 minute tape and I need 30-45 minutes on it. My options are .12 and .24

Anyone? I need to know for an interview I'm doing tomorrow. I assume .24 would be better quality but would I still get 60 minutes out of the tape?

Why don't you just try it at both speeds and see which one you like.

Uhh, because I don't know what difference it will make in how much I can fit on the tape.

My guess is that .12 will give 60 mins and .24 is 30 mins with better quality.

Not really. .12 could be super slow and give 120 minutes.

I'd just go with the slower one to be safe... how high does the quality need to be to record voices?
