What memory is the better choice? Corsair Vegence LED or G.Skill TridentZ RGB

Well, they both have practically the exact same timings, both run off of 1.35v, both have a lifetime warranty, and will provide almost the exact same performance, so flip a coin or maybe pick the one with the "prettiest" lights that work with your color coordination goals?

Yeah, seems the G.Skill would be the better option then.
 
The only difference in the spec is the Active to Precharge Delay or tRAS, and it varies by on integer 2. I think that's also called "Row-Access Strobe." And I think there is a possibility of tightening that single timing with the G.SKILL -- I could be corrected. I could be wrong, but I think there is a single subsidiary timing that can be reduced, allowing to reduce tRAS But they both have the same tCAS, the most important of the primary timings, matching in the 2nd and 3rd specs as well.

You have a map of constraints and preferences: budget, performance-objective, reliability, and even "bling."

I happened to have the same Mhz objective of 3200, so I picked these:

G.SKILL TridentZ DDR4-3200 -- "F4-3200C14D-16GTZ"

I'd rather have tighter timings than bling.

I've had Corsairs, and only tried changing their XMP profile to CR=1, but they were also great for their DDR3 speed and timings -- as good as comparable G.SKILL DDR3s.

Note that the tighter timings with no "bling" costs more than the looser-timed kit with the nice bling.

You should be happy picking any mentioned above. Just figure out what you want and what you want to spend.

Well Gskill you can usually tighten them up after the fact. They are working great so far. Just haven't done any overclocking yet till I let it break in some.

I had quality issues with the G.SKill memory and later found that it was somewhat of a common issue. Returned the third set and picked up the Corsair and have not had any issues since.

We're only looking at the block sample of my successive experience and yours, but I've never had G.SKILLs that were DOA with infant mortality. I have had a set go bad because of a bad PSU, and I think I had another set a year ago when one module went south. The RMA turnaround was great.

I may have chosen to (mostly) stick with the brand, because I'd had good OC'ing experiences with them, the 2x[module] sets will always run at CR=1 with little in the way of voltage adjustments. And they always seem to run fine at their XMP spec to survive thorough RAM testing.

After doing some digging in both the reviews on Newegg as well as the G.Skill support forum, I found that their quality of DDR4 memory was questionable. Maybe it's just bad luck on my part, but the issue seems to be a little more widespread than what I've seen in the past. Unfortunately, my other favorite of Crucial didn't have the desired timings in a 32GB 4x8 kit or I would have gone that route over both G.Skill and Corsair.

I will file that away for future reference.

I'm considering an upgrade from 2x8 to 2x16 for the same DDR4-3200 14-14-14 flavor of TridentZ. The 2x8's had passed 500% of HCI-Memtest-64, and I've never had a problem with them. G.Skill tech-support told me they couldn't guarantee meeting the spec with 2x(2x8) = 4x8 -- more optimistic about down-clocking to DDR4-3000.

Because the Skylake system is so "perfect" and stellar, I can't even make up my mind to spend more money -- whether to risk on another 2x8, a less-risky 2x16, a 1TB SATA SSD, a 27" gaming monitor, or anything else that I could otherwise covet.

JUST LOOKED AT THE OFFERINGS: I can't find any Corsair kits with timings like 14-14-14.

Yeah personally I've never had issues with G.Skill. Built 3 rigs since 2010 with them and had fantastic support. All 3 are with DDR3 so I haven't had to deal with DDR4 yet, but we'll see as I got some new GSkill sticks coming in.

With that said I did evaluate the Trident Z RGB as an option for some time but I've noticed they're significantly pricier and they don't have 14-14-14 sticks. I suppose the LEDs add a bit of heat.
