What makes your college famous?

U Toronto... lots of people know it, since its pretty big (53k undergrad, 72k total), and its also a pretty good school (#23 in the world according to the last ranking I saw).
 
Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. Pharmacy, and the fact that Jim Jones attended school there for awhile before the whole cult leader drink the koolaid thing.

michigan ... unabomber, football, damn good engin school etc.
 
Rose-Hulman... for those who have heard of it (Mostly Indiana/Midwesterners) ...Enginneering (and better than Purdue 😛)

It's a small school, but as they'll be happy to tell you... "Rose-Hulman Ranked No. 1 Undergraduate Engineering Program for 7th Consecutive Year in U.S. News & World Report?s ?America?s Best Colleges?"
 
In 1908, John and Matilda Dodge purchased a 320-acre farm on what is now Oakland University's campus. As co-founder of Dodge Brothers Motor Cars, John Dodge quickly prospered in the burgeoning auto industry. When he died in 1920 from influenza, he left Matilda one of the nation's wealthiest women.

Matilda later married Alfred Wilson, a lumber broker. The Wilsons expanded the estate to 1,500 acres and built Meadow Brook Hall, a 110-room, 80,000-square-foot, Tudor-revival-style mansion. The mansion, built between 1926 and 1929, cost about $4 million. The Wilsons also added numerous farm buildings, recreational facilities, formal gardens and a modern-style house known as Sunset Terrace before donating their estate to Michigan State University.

Oakland University was created in 1957 when the late Alfred and Matilda Wilson donated $2 million and their 1,500-acre estate to Michigan State University to start a new college in Oakland County. Named Michigan State University Oakland, the college enrolled its first students in 1959. The name changed to Oakland University in 1963. In 1970, the Michigan Legislature recognized the maturity and stature of Oakland University by granting it autonomy, and Michigan's governor appointed OU's first Board of Trustees.

That is all I can think of it being famous for right now 😛 We're still growing.
 
current grad school: known for their Cinderella run to the Men's b'ball Final Four this year (George Mason)

undergrad: probably Tony Kornheiser (Binghamton Univ.) and best state school in NY.
 
Kings College London (KCL)

Red Brick Uni and has a very good reputation. The guys that discovered DNA were Kings students and we are known for our Medicine degree.

KSU --> Kent Read, Kent Write, Kent State. ( lol. good school, just kidding).

My alma mater Ohio University, Famous For:

The annual Halloween Party.

#2 Party school in the nation according to Playboy this year.

Alumni went on to found RSA (the security/encryption company) and the pacemaker.

Matt Lauer graduated from OU, as did McGyver!!!

Paul Newman was a student but got kicked out.
 
Johns Hopkins - Medicine

Hopkins also has the best BME program in the country, but that obviously isn't as well known as the med school.
