What makes women cut their hair after marriage?

I've noticed many couples where as soon as the woman marries the man, she chops off her hair -- sometimes to a point where she starts looking masculin. Is it because they no longer need to attract a man or is it out of convenience? Men are guilty too because we stop working out and grow a huge gut. ;)

The same thing as not wearing contacts and starting to wear their old fugly eyeglasses...

I think girls look really good with short hair. What do they call it, a "page cut?" That's hot.

They no longer want to look hot and soon let themselves go in other ways as well. That's why it's best for men to hold off on marriage until at least age 50 or 60.

Same thing that makes men get fat. Convenience. No sense of having to attract anybody since marriages are so hard to break. Also, to some degree, a greater comfort zone with somebody when you're married and less insecurities about being ugly.

Mainly the first part though.

For people who have never had long hair you have no idea how much of a pain in the ass it is sometimes. I've been about ready to cut my hair several times, I can't drive on any roads besides residentials with the driver side window down because it's like a solid hair screen covering my eyes. Then I realise that I've only seen one other person with hair similar to mine(he's actuatly a member of this board) and it's a nice plus that pretty soon after meeting me, girls always ask "can i play with your hair".

m'be women just chop their hair as they get older, nothing to do with marriage

Social convention says that women over a certain age are expected to cut their hair and adopt a matronly appearance, long hair is associated with beauty and sexual attractiveness, both considered areas belonging solely to young women.

hahahahaha!! i can just imagine that. oh wait..it happened to me too! short hair = more free, less hassle, and it's quicker to wash in the shower too!!!

with that said...i'd give ANYTHING to have my long hair back. ::shrugs::

I think it probably has a lot to do with having kids, too. You've got WAY less time when you have kids, and shorter hair is a lot easier to take care of. Also a lot less for kids to grab onto.

Well then, I've got just the solution to your hair problem....time. I don't know about you, but over time, my hair actually does grow longer and I don't even have to feed it or anything, it just grows BY ITSELF ;). J/k I hear from girls (and have seen with my own eyes) that that inbetween time between short and long hair is bad news bears.
