What makes the google search engine so special?

I personally use it because everybody seems to think its the best. But quite frankly, i dont know why its the best.

I started using i a long time ago because it was one of the only pages around that would load quickly.
I had quirky dialup, so if google loaded after I dialed in, I knew I was good. Waiting for MSN.com or some other site to load was a bitch.
Just so happened to be that it was a search engine too.

No, depending on the search terms there may be a few sponsored links at the top (blue background) and running down the right sidebar.

hhmm. i guess it is simple, clean, add free, fast, efficient, pretty, and i dont know what else really. But those are good enough reasons for using it. Although im wondering when their going to add 'video search'.

Search in MSN get a bunch of worthless links to Microsoft pages or websites hocking their warez. Search in Yahoo, get a bunch of obscure Yahoo groups that may or may not actually exist. Search in Google gets a ton of the same junk, but at least the most relevant stuff is up front.
