What makes a watch so expensive?

Gold, Silver, Diamonds. Brand names. Can't think of anything else.

yea, I can understand the first 3, but the ones they were discussing in that other thread didn't really seem to offer anything other than a name, they looked about the same as your $50-$100 watch, there has to be something I'm missing.

it's based on how many functions a watch has.

some watches have lunar cycles, digital time, calendars (mm/dd/yyyy), etc etc.

all those little extras require more intricate parts, which add to the cost.

oh, and also brand names.

Most I've ever spent on a watch was $200...oh wait, I did spend $500 on a watch for my wife. My penis is also larger than average. Hmm, you may be onto something here!

Stupid people because IMO a $5 watch tells the same time a $10K one does. Sure, no shoving in the faces of others and making them feeling small and worthless when you show them the $5 watch though, but Im not one to have to make others feel small and worthless compared to me. 😛
