What makes a loser?

The word is thrown around a lot, especially towards specific members here, but what actions (or inaction) precisely make an individual a loser? The whole "lol you're a virgin at <age above ~16>? What a loser" thing is a common one, but does that automatically do it? Let's say that I am a typical ATOTer in most respects, making seven figures with my MIT PhD, Yale JD, and Stanford MBA, and I look absolutely sexy in my expensive suit. As such I am the envy of every woman that meets me, yet atypically, I am a virgin by choice because I find sex to be abhorrent. Would I still be a loser in such an instance? I wouldn't say so. Likewise, a person could be relatively stupid and unsuccessful financially, but if he lived like a pimp most here would give him a passing grade. What parts of life, specifically, is it that a loser is losing?
 
I don't think the virgin thing necessarily implies 'loser'. There's a member on this forum, RedSquirrel, who is a virgin and openly talks about it. He is smart, dedicated to his work, owns a home at 25 (IIRC, could be a year or two off) and just hasn't made time in his life for women yet. I don't think he's a loser.

And no, I'm not a virgin myself.
 
I think the more TridenT-like attributes you possess, the more of a loser you seem to be. The two correlate pretty well.

Ye....no. Being a virgin has nothing to do with it. Not accepting the theory of evolution, on the other hand...
 
Say what you want about Virgins but they usually have a lot more money to spend on themselves rather than spending it on another woman and or children.

Makes the rest of us miss our lost money.

I define loser as someone with so much self hate that they bring everyone down around them with their negativity. Love yourselves and everything will come easy. So yes, if a virgin has a lot of self hate they are a loser because they haven't done anything to improve themselves and be happy.

A loser doesn't have anything to do with the age you first have sex or the amount of money you make. A loser is someone that, despite having the resources, decides to take more from society that they produce.
 
A loser is a essentially a human being that has the body of an adult but the mindset and behavior of a child. They do not take responsibility for themselves. They do not make a real effort to better their situation.
 
Its a word used to put people down. No other meaning other than that. Failure is the mother of success. If somebody loses a lot, at least they had the confidence to try and not be afraid to lose or fail, compared to the insecure mofos that point and laugh and call such person a loser when they do not have a shred of confidence to attempt half what said person did. Not to mention said person learns more after failing and understand his/her mistakes and becomes more likely to succeed.
