I have been trying to find out what Major I should look into for Video Editing. Would it just be like videography? Or is there a separate section for just video editing?

Video Editing is pretty damn specific. You should probably broaden your search to find a degree where you will learn video editing along with other video production capabilities. I suggest looking for a film/video program that leans toward production rather than theory. I have a degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State where I learned all about video production. You could also look at schools which are more technical, yet still a respected institution, such as Emerson College.

RTF might be a good major (Radio/Television/Film) for doing video editing. Check your university to see if they offer something similar to that.

Don't go to college if you want to do editing. Read "In The Blink of An Eye" by Walter Murch and other editing theory books. Get Final Cut Pro or Avid and then just edit. The best way to learn editing is to just do it. A lot.

I used to do a fair amount of video editing work and no one ever asked me where I went to school to get a job. Also, I learned more about editing by just doing it from project to project than I ever did when I went to film school. The only thing film school is really good for is networking and then it's only helpful if you go to a school in NY or LA if that's where you plan to work.

There are trade colleges that focus specifically on media arts, like video, animation, and audio production. Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA is a good one. I spent a lot of time there because my old band's drummer got his audio engineering degree there. We spent a lot of all-nighters moonlighting on their mind-blowing equipment ($1,000,000 mixing console, anyone?). There were lots of people from around the country who attended there, and they place graduates in jobs (though entry level work in this field doesn't always pay well). I would assume there are other similar schools.
