Was there that few produced here? I would like to play it, still trying to hear from a Wii U owner how it looks on it. Anyone have any luck finding it for under $100 complete? How good is it?

Ah ok, i was wondering how it ended up being so rare. Ya i could see do $70 or so, but not sure on $100 and really want to hear some actually feedback on how playable it looks on on the Wii U.

Picked it up at Gamestop about two weeks ago for $40. Only copy in stock in a AZ, they had to ship it from a remote town. Haven't played yet.
I'd get The Last Story and pre order Pandora's Tower as well. Those three will be $$$ down the road. Same with any Tales games or any JRPG really.

Ok ya i see Last Story still seems pretty cheap on Amazon. I just check gamestop and no copies within 100 miles gah.
Do people use the classic controller with this? If so might have to get one for my Wii u.

Like was mentioned, it was a Gamestop exclusive, so that right there greatly limited availability.
Second, it looks like according to Gamestop's website, they're out of stock, which I would assume unless there is going to be a reprinting (doubtful), they're not selling them anymore.
Anyway, as far as the game goes, I'm only about 14 hours in. Yes, I play with the CLASSIC controller. DEFINITELY better than playing with the Wii-mote.
As far as my thoughts on the game: It's very deep, great big wold, and excellent battle mechanics, but I'm yet to be hooked by the story or characters. Something about the Mechon, a bunch of robots, just fails to illicit any kind of reaction from me as far as villains go. And the protagonists, while not bad or annoying by any stretch (especially if you've played some recent Final Fantasies..ugh), aren't terribly memorable. I'm sure there's a big twist somewhere around hour 30, but as of now, probably about 1/3rd through the game, it hasn't hooked me.
Make no mistake, I like the game. It's enjoyable. But IMHO, it's gotten a little TOO hyped from a niche that is DESPERATE for a great JRPG, and are anxious to latch onto anything that might fit that bill.
I'll get back to it eventually, but right now I'm actually having more fun with a few other RPGs.

I kills me that any company would knowingly put themselves in the position of only selling their game at 1 retailer in this market. Especially when that retailer is Gamestop. Very short sighted and likely killed off many potential buyers.
I use the classic controller as well. I'm about 65 hours in, and nowhere near the end. I like the story, I like the environments as well. Characters are standard JRPG fair though.

Just seems so odd to do a exculsive on this unless they helped fund localization or something.

I don't assume someone's pirating just becasue they're using an emulator, it was the "much cheape"r that made me wonder.

Well..much cheaper than $100..that's insaneI paid $40 used (which is still high for a used game
I finally found a used copy at a Gamestop.. for $60. They're shipping it to my local store today.

I don't necessarily see those falling to the same fate as Xenoblade Chronicles because they aren't at the mercy of Gamestop. I mean... The Last Story is $30 on Amazon right now. Although, I wonder if Xenoblade Chronicles would have done better if it wasn't a Wii-exclusive game? I just don't really think of the Wii if I think of RPGs.

It's really what the Wii was missing, however needed to come out 3-4 years ago. It came along way too late in the life of the console. But on the other hand, I hadn't actually touched my Wii in over a year until that game.
P.S. Pandoras Tower is not really an RPG..it's just a dungeon crawler item fetch game. You know the ones where you slowly make it further and further but have to keep going back to the beginning to get the "next item" request. (only up instead of down). It may have some RPG elements to it, not sure, but it's not an RPG like Xeno.

Well after a long hassle and search my copy arrived today.
On Sunday i thought i found one at a Gamestop about 30 mins away, it showed it instock online, i called guy said he would hold it. I got there and he is like ummm i have bad news it was already held for someone else and he picked it up .... I just said there silent he was like you are taking this a lot better then we thought you would, i wanted to hulk smash the store for the hour round trip for nothing.
So after that said fek it and bought a copy on ebay for $96.
